Data Collection Tool
Project Details: Create a tool to input data collected from field workers about network assets. I created a tool using MapBasic with several input screens to add a location to a MapInfo table. The asset database was then upload into an Oracle 8i Spatial database along with other MapInfo tables. The upgrade took over a year to migrate from MapInfo flat-files to Oracle 8i Spatial. I designed the Oracle table schema, built the tables, then migrated over 15 separate MapInfo tables containing over 50,000 records into a relational Oracle Spatial database. The screenshots below are of that user interface. Only the back-end code had to be changed to connect to the Oracle database.
